Product overview

Hardware Independent

EverEST overview slide 1

EverEST is an innovative product for the retail market.
The application development is based on 5th generation languages (Visual Basic, C++, and Java) with intensive usage of OOP techniques.

EverEST relies on a Relational DataBase (via ODBC) for all the look-ups necessary for sales activity.

A complete set of reports and data maintenance allow the application to be used and controlled solely in the store even without Host communication (i.e. adding items in case they are not found in the data base), making EverEST an ideal solution for stand-alone and multiple chain organisations.

The most innovative application area in EverEST, in terms of programming and architecture is the Point of Sale Terminal application.
The POS application has been completely developed using the JAVA language.

Operating System Independent

EverEST allows a wide range of configurations. In addition this platform allows a mix of POS terminals running with different operating systems on which the same application runs, thanks to the usage of JAVA as development tool for the POS application.

EverEST overview slide 2

This configuration foresees three basic modes:

The main advantage of such type of configuration is the possibility for the customer to delay the hardware investments necessary to enter the new technology world.
In addition, due to the usage of JAVA, the POS application has not to be rewritten once moving to a Windows or Linux based POS.

Customer can decide whether to install the new POS application on the existing hardware platform (IBM 4694, SNI Beetle) or to replace both the hardware and the software by installing EverEST on the Windows NT based POS.

The application server is a standard PC, running Windows NT as operating system, on which it is possible to connect one or more workstations.

Flexible Configurations

EverEST can be configured in different operating modes:

EverEST overview slide 3

Configuration number 1:

One or more POS linked to the Windows-NT server. In case of problems to the server, the POS registers will be able to continue selling by remotely accessing to another server physically in another site, or retrieving the sales information directly from the local hard disk.

In any case, a POS equipped with local disk will always be able to perform sales transactions even in off-line condition (no server available in the network).

Configuration number 2:

This is the stand-alone configuration. This configuration is based on a single PC performing both server (administrative functions) and POS functionalities.
Standard POS peripherals will be attached to the output ports on the PC. This configuration is available under the Windows-NT platform.

Where required it will be possible to plugin a fiscal printer.

Easy to Maintain

EverEST overview slide 4

The operating system required on server is Windows NT (version 4, 2000 or XP).

The application requires a Relational database for storing sales data. At the moment we use UDB (Universal database, old DB2 evolution), and SQL Server.

MPS system services allow to:

Microsoft Visual Basic and Microsoft Visual C++ have been used to develop the server application, fifth generation programming languages.
This approach gives the possibility to the final customer to easily develop new applications where required.

Reports produced by the applications (both reports and data maintenance) will be generated in HTML format, the same format used by the Internet browsers.
This approach gives the tremendous advantage to download via Internet (or Intranet for a higher security level) the daily turnover reports from the different locations.

Visitors Counter Device Support

EverEST overview slide 5

The visitors counter device represents a valid aid to collect information about the number of customers visiting the store in order to verify the advertising results.

Catalina Vouchers Support

EverEST has been integrated to support Catalina vouchers:

The EverEST server communicates the sales data to the Catalina server that is connected to a printer dedicated to the Catalina Vouchers printer. According to the items bought by the customer, a different voucher is printed to promote items connected to the shopping done.

24Hours Support

The EverEST POS application includes the following functionalities supporting the 24 hours open time stores:

EverEST overview slide 7

The above described functions make the EverEST application more flexible towards the 24 hours open time stores. The new releases always take into account the 24 hours environment. Obviously the basic functions are included.

Marketing Info Collection

EverEST overview slide 8

The Marketing Info Collection application represents a valid help for the collection of useful information about the customers. The information are collected directly at the POS terminal at tendering time.

The operator can be prompted to ask the customer a wide range of information about his/her age, zip code, sex, family unit, job, etc...

The application allows to define for each record the store where the info message should be applied, the time when the message must be displayed (start date and time, end date and time, frequency during the week) and the moment inside the transaction time when the message must be displayed (random, at tendering time, etc...).

Employees Clock In/Out

EverEST overview slide 9

The employees clock in and clock out can be registered directly from the EverEST Server or POS as they log at the POS terminal or at the server itself. All the relevant data will be collected at database level.

Customer Loyalty System

EverEST overview slide 1

EverEST loyalty system allows to define promotions based on different criteria: customer recognition, combination of items, sale date, sale time, day of the week, payment type, etc...

Moreover, the application allows to charge the discounted amounts on electronic purses, in case of fidelity customers, or on vouchers, in case of generic customers, instead of applying the discount immediately, in order to make the customer come back to get the discount.

Bar Code Table Definition

EverEST overview slide 1

The Barcode table definition application allows to define customized barcodes for sales purposes such as weight labels, customers, labels or coupons labels.

The system is based on barcode type (EAN, UPCE, UPCA, Interleave, etc..) and pattern with the possibility to define up to four different patterns.

EFT Systems Support

EverEST overview slide 1

The EverEST EFT Systems can support both integrated and connected solutions EMV ready.

The EverEST EFT Manager can be modified to interface any kind of credit card payment software.

EverEST is easy to be customized

EverEST overview slide 3
